The Sky is going to become very busy in the next few months with the cluster of events happening one after the other. Let's go.

  1. October 8/9: Draconid Meteor Shower

The Draconid Meteor Shower is one of the two meteor showers to annually grace the skies in October. The Draconids are also called Giacobinidis and they usually peak between October 8-9. Even though you don't need special equipment, you might need a lot of patience, an accurate position of the meteors and a secluded spot where light pollution is very less.

2. October 21/22: Orionids Meteor Shower

The Orionids Meteor Shower is one of the best and most reliable meteor showers that is visible throughout the globe. It is the second meteor shower created by the debris left by the Halley's Comet and peak visibility being between midnight and early dawn with about 20 meteors per hour. Although you don't need any special equipment to see the meteor shower, you do need a lot of patience and a secluded spot away from the citylights.

3. November 7/8: Total Lunar Eclipse

A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon and completely blocks the light of the Sun from reaching the Moon and subsequently the Sun casts the Earth's shadow on the moon. This Eclipse will me visible in North and South America, Asia, Australia and parts of Europe.

However, only a partial eclipse will be visible in New Delhi and most of India as the moon will be below the horizon for the most time.

Next week: Did the Apollo 11 mission really happen or was it all just an Act?

4. December 4-17: Geminids Meteor Shower

120 meteors.... Discovered in 1862, The Geminids Meteor Shower, formed from the debris left by the object Pantheon 3200 is considered the best meteor shower of the year. The Geminids appear to radiate from a point in the constellation Gemini, hence the name “Geminids.” The meteor shower begins on 4th December, peaking on 14th and 15th December. All you need is secluded spot away from the citylights, an accurate position of the Gemini Constellation and a lot of patience (Believe me!). The eyes may take upto half an hour to get used to the dark but trust me, the view after that is going to be amazing.

Trust me guys, you'll not want to miss any of these events. They come once a year, but they leave an everlasting impression. Thank you for reading my blog. I'll be back next week with more amazing content.
